My Most Played Songs of 2012

1. T-ara - Lovey Dovey (83 plays)

Benefiting from being released in January, and being a constant go-to whenever I feel the need to dance, T-ara just beat out the competition to become my top song of 2012 with this funky fucking anthem which included the first time I actually appreciated Hwayoung’s involvement in the group.

2. Orange Caramel - Lipstick (82 plays)

Some songs grow on you, and others grab you from the first fucking millisecond and leave you enraptured until it’s had its way with you. This song is the latter. With a funky accordion-based instrumental and the video that gave us all that gif of Nana playing ping pong, this song just lost out on the number one spot.

3. After School - Flashback (78 plays)

Riding on the coattails of one of the best teasers ever created, this song nevertheless managed to worm its way into my most played of 2012 list. Despite it’s arguably derivative dubstep-ness, its combination of sex, Nana’s dance moves, Lizzy’s boobs, and the longest middle 8 of any pop song I’ve ever heard (seriously, you get regular, then rap, then dance break, then build up) helped gain it it’s place on this list.

4. Son Dambi - Dripping Tears (76 plays)

Sneaking in during mid-November and continuing Pledis’ domination of my iPod this year is Son Dambi’s long-fucking-awaited comeback track. While not exactly revolutionary by anybody’s standards, what this song does do is return Son Dambi to what she does best. Also the music video is notable for three things: the creepiest back-up dancers this year, reminding everybody that Son Dambi is the hottest thing on the planet, and the wiggiest wig if ever a wig there was.

5. Nine Muses - Ticket (72 plays)

If there was an award for ‘dance I danced by myself whenever the mood took me’, this song would win hands down. After a string of increasingly outstanding singles from Sweetune, this song cemented my love for this formerly laughable group of former/current models. Plus how could I not play this song at least once on every train journey I took this year?

6. Ricki-Lee - Do It Like That (Fred Falke Mix)

7. Kyary Pamyu Pamyu - Candy Candy

8. HyunA - Ice Cream

9. T-ara - Day by Day

10. After School - Rambling Girls
